My Pickleball Recap

I started playing pickleball in the summer of 2013, but I didn’t compete in tournaments until January of 2014. I entered my first tournament in Surprise, AZ as 3.5 with my mixed doubles Robert Doerschel. After winning a gold at my first tournament, I gained the confidence to enter more tournaments. In 2014 I won some additional medals in 4.0 and won a bronze medal at Nationals. After the 2014 Nationals, I moved up quickly to 4.5 in doubles and 5.0 in singles. 

I won more medals playing women’s doubles with Jan Yu, as well as singles at tournaments in California, Nevada and in Arizona, and a gold with Jotham Darrin. After the 2016 Southwest Regional Tournament in January (this weekend), I will be playing at 5.0 in both singles and doubles. Thus far, my greatest pickleball tournament achievement, is winning a bronze medal at 2014 Nationals in ladies doubles with MJ (Myungjoo Shin). I know it’s not gold but still was very proud of this achievement.
