This morning I went to the head office of Philippine Airlines in Makati to redeem some of my Mabuhay Miles points to purchase a ticket. I took the MRT from ADB to get there. It was the busiest time of the day. I couldn’t believe the men passengers were so rough and demonstrated no respect at all, even to women. I was pushed around or run over to the side of the MRT wall. It was uncomfortable and disrespectful. I’ve taken the MRT below, but this was the first time during rush hour – what a difference the time of day makes! I could not imagine how unpleasant it would be to take the MRT back and forth to and from work every day during rush hour.
Once I arrived at the MRT station Ayala Avenue, I asked the traffic enforcer to help me the building where the PAL office is located. It is located at the 2nd floor of Arnaiz Building in Makati – just three blocks from the MRT station. When I reached in the PAL office I was given a number for the next available teller to assist me. I waited about five minutes only. The office was clean and organized. There lots of comfortable seats available. Once the teller called my number, the whole process of my request didn’t take long. Maybe because I had all of my requirements prepared to redeem the Mabuhay Miles points. I think it took only 10 to 15 minutes only for the wall process and I’m done.
I was surprised how fast and efficient the PAL ticket office personnel were. Too bad the PAL folks at the airport don’t perform as well.
